« on: May 21, 2009, 04:42:43 PM »
Hey guys Im new on this forum and was wondering if you could help me out. Ive been bying beetle juice for a while now and have noticed on numorous times the lack of quality and consistency of their fuel.

I live in the west rand of joburg, Where can I get better fuel? Someone suggested I get sidewinder nitro, where can I get sidewinder nitro fuel?

Thanx in adance for any replies

I have always used Morgan fuels and have never had a problem with it. I have flown 15%-22%-30% on different heli's and have always thought the best of their fuels. For the most part I don't think there is a best or a worse fuel. Its all a personal preference and what you can get your hands on. Personally I don't think I will fly anything else in my heli's. I drive 35-40km to pick up some fuel for the weekends flying. Like they say "If its not broke don't fix it".

You what I did was I used the beetle juice on my nitro truck started from base settings got the engine tuned to perform pretty well but then I got some sidewinder fuel from someone started from base settings again and tuned the engine and then it performed much better started getting consistant wheelies and revved very nicely.

I am pretty sure the beetle juice is not bad but I could notice a difference between the fuels. So im trying to get a hold of some other fuels to compare. Where would I get morgan fuels if I may ask

Try the Aerial Concepts fuel, I have used 25% for my Heli and 15% for my Nitro car and both perform well

I currently have an RC helicopter and I'm thinking about getting one of those gas powered RC cars, is there much of a difference in maintenance and actually "driving" them?  Thanks!
You gotta make it happen!!!

Emily: Simply put, yes. Cars bore the doodoo out of you within a few days, helis never will. That's pretty much the big difference. :D :D They require the same maintanance, cost virtually the same although you can argue cars being more expensive once you start playing with the proper stuff. Cars are much easier to drive, only place you'll really get into a compareable challenge piloting the thing will be when you get into serious racing, and then we don't want to even start talking about costs comparisons.

Sure some will say who am I to comment being probably one of SA's biggest heli junkies, but I've only been flying helis for almost 4 years. Been into RC for probably 16 years. ;) It definitely wasn't all things flying in the beginning.
