Emily: Simply put, yes. Cars bore the doodoo out of you within a few days, helis never will. That's pretty much the big difference.

They require the same maintanance, cost virtually the same although you can argue cars being more expensive once you start playing with the proper stuff. Cars are much easier to drive, only place you'll really get into a compareable challenge piloting the thing will be when you get into serious racing, and then we don't want to even start talking about costs comparisons.
Sure some will say who am I to comment being probably one of SA's biggest heli junkies, but I've only been flying helis for almost 4 years. Been into RC for probably 16 years.

It definitely wasn't all things flying in the beginning.
