Are there any more SPAD flyers in SA?
« on: June 20, 2008, 06:11:39 PM »
I enjoy designing, building and flying my own planes. Whats more , I enjoy doing it all in one weekend.
And then the cherrie on top , I just love building a plane for less than R100 , excluding the electronics of coarse.
Here is a video of one of my SPADS flying. http://rcuvideos.com/item/4RJC629M6P5LC29W/theater#theater_title

Hi Bex,

I'm sure there are a whole lot of SPAD builder and flyers out there, I've built a couple and they're loads of fun. My favorite is the SPA3D, totally indestructable and great for learning to fly 3D. I used to live on a small holding but no runway, so it was a matter of hand launch and make a plan when landing.

The SPA3D can be a little temperamental at times, and one moment you're prophanging about 10 meters from the ground, the  next you're in an accidental inverted flat spin and shortly after on the ground. Dust it off, and off you go again.

Another one is a little flying wing slope soarer that we used to build and go flying from the paraglider slopes, also tons of fun.
